1.  A brief background of Family Planning programme.
Family Planning is one of the components of Reproductive Health. Family Planning is a way of thinking and living adopted voluntarily upon the basis of knowledge, attitude and responsible decision by individuals and couples in order to promote the health of the family, group and thus contribute effectively to the social development of a Country.
Family Planning helps by avoiding unintended pregnancy and therefore reduce the need for abortion and the associated risks.
2. Strategic Interventions.
Provision of family planning services to Women of Child Bearing Age in the State thereby improving their health and reducing high maternal mortality rate.
Demand generation through community mobilization, health education and counselling.
Awareness creation on the availability and accessibility of family planning services on OSBC.
Yearly training of students Midwives of Osun State School of Midwifery, which helps to increase the number of providers.
Training of health worker on the provision of family planning services to improve accessibility.
Outreaches on the provision of modern contraceptives especially Long Acting Reversible methods in the hard to reach areas of the State.
3. Major programme achievements.
       Supply of Family Planning commodity to the Service Delivery Points in the State to avoid stock out and collation of data.
       Training of 100 Health Worker to increase the number of service delivery points in the State.
      Awareness creation on radio (OSBC) on the accessibility and availability of family planning services.
      Outreaches by Marie Stopes International Organization Nigeria (MSION) since October, 2015.
      Demand generation through community mobilization, health education and counselling.
