Nutrition Division

The Division is one of the branches of the SPHCDB, with the responsibility to reduce Under-5 mortality and reduce malnutrition in the State:

  • Manage Severe and Acute Malnutrition
  • Micronutrient Deficiency Control (monitoring of iodized salt, food fortification and dietary diversification) 
  • Promote appropriate Infant and Young Child Feeding
  • Promote appropriate Adolescent and Maternal Nutrition
  • Coordinate the bi-annual Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW)
  • Technically support School Feeding Programme, State Committee on Food and Nutrition and similar committee with nutrition component
  • Coordinate Inter-sectoral collaborations for Nutrition
